Last weekend Andy Lefevere and co-driver Marc Noppe drove the Omloop van Vlaanderen, a home rally for the Porsche pilot. After 19 tests, the Porsche in Experza colors finished in first place in the GT classification and 6th overall.
“When I decided to build a Porsche a few years ago, I had quietly hoped to start a BRC race with about 8 Porsches each time. Unfortunately, in the Omloop van Vlaanderen, there was again little opposition … I would have liked to measure myself against Cedric Cherain, for example. But we had fun and were able to keep some R5 cars behind us,” said the Yprauto manager.
On the opening day, Andy and Marc lost some time with a faulty intercom, but otherwise the race went smoothly. “On Friday the rain made it very slippery in places and I was also surprised that we were 7th after that first day. On Saturday we kept a tight pace and after the sortie of Potty we finished 6th, the best possible result with this field of competitors.”
