After a 6-month inactivity, Andy Lefevere won the ORC rally in Oostrozebeke yesterday.
“I didn’t have much time to get used to the car again, because from the very first meter they were driving very hard. The competition was awake and I had to give everything the whole race…”
Melissa Debackere came on strong in the final lap, but the red Lancer stayed clear and Andy won the race with a 3.9 second lead. It was also the second consecutive victory for him in the ORC Rally.
“When it started raining I thought for a moment that I had a deflate and dropped a few seconds. But anyway, I am impressed with Melissa’s performance, a very strong debut! From start to finish we fought for every second. It’s always nice to be able to win like that…
It seems that this would have been the last edition of the ORC. This would be a particular shame, because I love coming here! A nice compact course, a nice service area and free access for the spectators… I therefore wish to thank the organization for the work done and I hope to compete for a third victory next year!”
The next rally will most likely be the TBR Rallysprint in early July.
