Last weekend Andy Lefevere came to the start in the Rallysprint of Moorselde. The Yprauto business manager left the trusty Mitsubishi Lancer at home and drove a Porsche 997 GT3. “The decision to drive in Moorslede actually came quite late. It was Chris Debyser who suggested I drive with the FiXion Porsche GT3…. “
The FiXion Porsche had been ready for competition since the Kortrijk Rally was held at Wold Karts in Kortrijk. “I picked up the car, made a small change to the suspension and off we went. I had barely driven 10 kilometers with the car beforehand… During the race I could count on Tim Van Parijs’ tips, he was very open and assisted me very well in finding the setup that best suited my style. “
In the first round Andy Lefevere immediately set a strong third time, just behind the Lancers of Bert Coene and Dennis Degroote. When it got drier in the second lap, the Porsche was able to record the scratch. The lead was taken over from Bert Coene, despite strong resistance from Gunther Monnens and Paul Lietaer, Andy and Chris were able to lead the Porsche safely to victory in the remaining laps.
“I could definitely go faster, but I didn’t want to take any risks. Above all, I wanted to get the Porsche to the finish line in one piece. For me this was of course an ideal test with a view to the GT3 I am building. Now that I have driven this Porsche I am itching even more to get my own car ready. I also want to thank Chris for giving me a chance, it really is a fantastic car! I am happy that I could thank FiXion by giving them the victory in Moorslede, ” concludes Andy Lefevere.
