Last Sunday, Andy Lefevere got behind the wheel of his Porsche 997 GT3 again after 10 months. The weather gods were not kind to the drivers and it became a race driven in particularly difficult conditions, not exactly a gift with a Porsche….
“That’s true, we regularly suffered from aqua planning and it was searching for braking points in the rain. I myself also made a mistake where I left at least 30 seconds. We finished fourth, which is certainly not bad but maybe there was more in it… I was especially satisfied that we could drive again after all these months.”
Over the past few months, Andy and his tealm have been working hard on the Porsche’s suspension and it paid off on Sunday. “This car requires a very precise setup, and we are finally starting to find it. The last lap when it started to dry up I kept using the set-up from the morning, with the Lancer this worked but the Porsche needs to be more precisely tuned…”
