Next weekend Andy Lefevere will be at the start of the Omloop van Vlaanderen together with Marc Noppe, a home race for the Yprauto business manager: “I am starting in the Omloop for the 21st time and have been on the podium twice already, but it remains a difficult race. Especially the tests around Passchendaele are extremely bumpy and that’s something to watch out for with our Porsche. “
After the Staden Rally in early August, the team’s focus was immediately turned to the Omloop van Vlaanderen. “I shouldn’t hide it, Staden was not good,” he said.
The weather forecast looks good for the Porsche driver, as it has been raining all the time since he made the Porsche debut.
As always, Andy starts the race with ambition. “Our Porsche is fast, but on the bumpy tests we lose way too much time compared to the R5 cars. Mind you I am under no illusions, I cannot compete with the top cars, but I still want to compete with the second group of R5 cars and of course against the colleagues in the GT class. The win in the GT class remains the main goal! “
Andy and Marc received start number 10 on the Porsche and will have to compete in the GT class against Gunther Monnens and Glenn Janssens.
