Last weekend, Andy Lefevere and co-driver Marc Noppe finished in a handsome 5th place amidst the R5 cars in the Motul Rally of Wervik. “And without the problems with the differential we were probably even a place higher,” said Andy who was immediately in the right rhythm on Saturday and was second for a long time.
“Before the race the bike got a new mapping which gave us more power in high revs, but I was clearly missing torque down low. We’ll probably go back to the old mapping which made me feel a bit better.
That Yates was really hard to follow… You just have to do it, barely 21 years old and beating all the Belgians on home soil… We can certainly look back on a successful rally, only that bad strip on kp Wervik is too much in my opinion. In an R5 you apparently don’t feel that, but our Lancer still sees off.”
On the final lap, the differential began to play tricks on Andy and the Lancer pilot dropped to 5th place. “But I would have been willing to sign for that beforehand! A well tuned Lancer is still not written off, the proof is there… Pilots who are interested can always contact me, because with the arrival of the Porsche the Lancer is already for sale…”
